I am running because the work of local government affects our everyday lives. It shapes our roads, public spaces, city services, neighborhood safety, and the way our community prepares for the future.

I believe residents deserve a commissioner who listens carefully, explains decisions clearly, and follows through. My approach is nonpartisan and practical: understand the facts, hear from the community, and make responsible decisions in Longwood's best interest.

Michael Pfenning is a Longwood resident, husband, father, Army veteran, and healthcare professional. His connection to Longwood is personal because this is where he is raising his family and building his future. He understands that city decisions are not just numbers on paper. They affect families, homes, water bills, roads, public safety, and the quality of life residents deal with every day. Through his military service and professional experience in healthcare, Michael has learned the value of accountability, clear communication, and solving problems before they become bigger problems. He has also been involved in the community by attending local meetings, listening to residents, showing up for local events, and staying engaged with the issues affecting Longwood. Michael is running because he believes residents deserve transparency, responsible planning, and leadership that puts the community first instead of waiting until problems are already out of control.

This campaign will remain focused on the responsibilities of city government and the concerns Longwood residents raise most often: transparency, infrastructure, responsible growth, community, and accountability.
