Michael PfenningLongwood Commission, District 3

Priorities

Practical work. Clear accountability.

These priorities provide a starting point for a resident-informed agenda. The campaign will continue refining them through conversations across Longwood.

01

Transparency and access

Residents should be able to understand what the city is doing, why decisions are being made, and how to participate.

A practical approach

  • Support clear, plain-language communication about major city decisions.
  • Make it easier for residents to find timely information and public records.
  • Encourage early community input before consequential decisions are final.
02

Infrastructure and essential services

Roads, drainage, sidewalks, parks, public safety, and city services require consistent attention and responsible planning.

A practical approach

  • Prioritize maintenance and long-term infrastructure planning.
  • Use data and resident experience to identify recurring service problems.
  • Pursue outside funding when it serves Longwood without weakening local accountability.
03

Strong neighborhoods and community

Longwood should remain a welcoming city where neighborhoods are heard, public spaces are cared for, and residents feel connected.

A practical approach

  • Protect neighborhood quality of life as the city grows.
  • Support safe, useful parks and public spaces for residents of all ages.
  • Build stronger communication between City Hall and every part of Longwood.
04

Accountability and fiscal responsibility

Every public dollar should be used carefully, and elected officials should explain results as clearly as they explain plans.

A practical approach

  • Ask direct questions about costs, timelines, risks, and measurable outcomes.
  • Plan for long-term needs instead of relying on short-term fixes.
  • Report back to residents on progress, delays, and changing conditions.
